Personal Direction

The decision-making practice

Choosing your direction for Higher Education is one of the biggest decisions in this stage of student’s life. However, not enough time and research is spent by each student to discover their pathway.

Our university counseling program begins from early Secondary School education (grade 9) to inform students about different pathways (programs, majors, schools, countries, careers, etc.) and giving opportunities for students to discover their passion and skills. They will gain many opportunities throughout their counseling and studies to make little decisions that will have impact in their life. They can make their own choices for choosing the optional courses, joining the student teams, planning a project, choices in their volunteer work, little decisions that shapes their characters during collaboration with peers and teachers.

Some decisions may lead to failed projects, some may lead to discovery, some may lead to successful outcome; but they will be able to practice the art of decision making. So, when the time comes for them to choose their direction into Higher education or career, they can make an informed decision with confidence.

Discovering your passions and skillsets.

The general high school courses such as English, Math, Science, ICT are limited in finding the specific interest and talents that individual students possess. Also, the assessment of their learning through testing their knowledge and application is also limited.

We decided to provide more variety of courses that will spark their curiosity and test their abilities through more challenging projects. Although not all courses they study may be accredited, but it will enrich their learning. Courses such as Astrophysics, machine learning, graphic designing basics, fine arts, musical instruments, python coding, etc. will give students a taste of the field that they are curious about. Projects led by teachers and student leader by teams will give opportunity to test not only their knowledge but also their characters and grit
